Motorcycle Ride to Benefit American Cancer Society

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 6, 2003
The Power of Hope Ride benefitting the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2003. The ride leaves from Walton EMC headquarters on US Hwy 78 about four miles east of Monroe, Georgia at 10:30 a.m. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m.

The donation for the ride is $20 solo, $25 two-up and includes a complimentary lunch and t-shirt.

The route will last about 1 1/2 to 2 hours and winds through the beautiful Georgia Piedmont on primarily rural back roads.

Activities after the ride feature door prizes, a bike show ($10 entry fee) and 50/50 drawing. All bikes are welcome.

Detailed directions to ride: Street Address-842 Highway 78 NW, Monroe. From locations to the west, Travel US 78 East five past the Monroe/Winder/Highway 11 Exit. Office is located on right side of highway in Mount Vernon community with access from Mount Vernon Road. From locations to the east, travel US 78 West from Athens/Hwy 316 area. After crossing the Walton County Line/Apalachee River, office is approximately six miles on the left with access from Mount Vernon Road.
