MONROE, Ga. -The Walton Tribune recently announced its 2003 Readers' Choice Awards with Walton Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) receiving the award for "Best Electric Company."

Each year, Walton Tribune readers participate in a Readers' Choice poll. Readers vote for their favorite Walton County businesses, services and people.

"It's an honor to receive an award voted on by some of our own members," said Walton EMC President/CEO Ronnie Lee. "We want to thank the Walton Tribune readers who participated in this year's poll."

The readers have named Walton EMC as "Best Electric Company" for seven consecutive years.

"It's part of our cooperative way, to serve our members the best we can and continue to build strong relationships with them," Lee added.

Walton EMC serves 110,000 accounts in ten Northeast Georgia counties between Atlanta to Athens.
