MONROE, Ga.– Collectible cars and trucks rolled into Monroe for Walton Electric Membership Corporation's first Willie's World of Wheels held Sat., April 30.

Charleen Carey of Bethlehem won Willie's Choice Award with her 1957 Studebaker.

Walton EMC employee volunteers hosted the car show at their headquarters to benefit the March of Dimes annual WalkAmerica fundraising drive. Willie's World of Wheels raised $2,400 with 34 entries, raffles, a barbeque lunch and more.

“We appreciate all those who brought their vehicle out for the show despite the bad weather,” said Kathy Ivie, team captain for Walton EMC's Power Team. “It shows how much our community cares for the March of Dimes and for saving babies. We're already looking forward to planning next year's car show.”

Judges selected the top 25 entries to receive trophies and awarded Charleen Carey of Bethlehem with Willie's Choice Award for her 1957 Studebaker. Photos from the car show are posted online at waltonemc.com under News Center-Photo Gallery. Check the website next April for details on the second annual Willie's World of Wheels.

Walton EMC is a customer-owned electric company that serves 110,000 accounts in 10 Northeast Georgia counties from Stone Mountain to Athens.
