Walton Electric Membership Corporation will upgrade electric service
for a few hundred Morgan County customer-owners on Thursday,
April 19, Wednesday, April 25 or Tuesday, May 1 beginning at
approximately 9 a.m. each day.
Brief power outages are scheduled to accommodate this work. No
customer should be without power more than three hours, and in
most cases the outage will be shorter. All customers included in
the planned outage have received information by door card and will
be affected only one of the three days.
During the upgrade, crews will raise the voltage of primary electric
lines. This improves service, reliability and further decreases
the likelihood of voltage drops and sags. It will also allow for
growth in electrical demand in the area.
Customers on and adjacent to these roads are affected on April
19: Big Sandy Creek Lane, Flat Rock Road, Prospect Road, Shepherd
Road (eastern end), Sandy Creek Road, Sabrina Lane, Holland Springs
Road, Highway 83 (from Big Sandy Creek Lane to Sandy Creek Road)
and Highway 441 (from Youngblood Dairy to Hard Labor Creek Bridge).
Customers on and adjacent to these roads are affected on April
25: Bass Road and Highway 441 (from Hard Labor Creek Bridge to
the Madison city limits).
Customers on and adjacent to these roads are affected on May 1:
Speed Lane, Tamplin Road, Doster Road (to McHenry Crossing), Jerry
Head Road, Hayes Street and Highway 83 (from Sandy Creek Road to
the Madison city limits).
Customers should schedule work requiring electrical power around
this outage. Computer work should be completed and saved before
the outage occurs. Residents with homes on wells may want to draw
extra water for use during the outage.
If inclement weather occurs on the day of the upgrade, it will
be moved to the following day. Those affected can call Walton EMC
at 770/267-2505 if they have questions.
