So
what can you do to combat blinks?
First,
try to buy electronics with battery or capacitor backup circuits.
This isn't always easy because electronics manufacturers
often leave these features out of their products to cut costs.
If
you have a computer, consider an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
These devices provide a cushion against blinks or a grace
period for longer outages, enabling you to avoid data loss.
Walton
EMC can help you in sizing and acquiring a UPS for your home or
business. Go to waltonemc.com and click on the Real Protection
link on our home page for more information.
Another
good measure to minimize data loss is to simply hit the save button
in the computer program you're using about every ten minutes.
If our right-of-way contractors ask to
trim the trees on your property, cooperate. Besides helping
to eliminate blinks, a clear right-of-way cuts down on tree-related
outages and helps crews access lines to make repairs faster during
storms.
