Walton
EMC members' participating in Operation Round Up impacted eleven
families during the month of August.
These community members receiving
funds appreciate the help from Round Up. Find out how your change
added up for a great cause.
- A
Gwinnett County woman is receiving payment for one month's mortgage.
She recently paid for major automobile repairs and is raising
her two grandchildren.
- A
single Gwinnett County mother is getting money toward one month's
mortgage. She is employed but recently had financial troubles
when her young daughter had to be hospitalized.
- A
Walton County elderly couple is receiving funds to have their
leaky roof replaced. They don't have extra funds to pay for the
repairs themselves.
- A
Gwinnett County single mother is receiving one month's rent. She
currently lives with her father who works but is not able to support
the entire family.
- A
Gwinnett County single mother is getting assistance towards a
deposit for renting a home. She was recently forced to move out
of her last home because the landlord unexpectedly decided to
sell.
- An
Oconee County elderly man is receiving funds for dental expenses.
He and his wife don't have extra funds to pay for repairs on his
dentures.
- A
Gwinnett County single mother is receiving funds to pay her property
taxes and one automobile payment. She currently has a job, but
was out of work for two months and was unable to pay her taxes.
- A
Gwinnett County mother is getting three months' mortgage payments.
Her husband recently left her and her children and refuses to
pay child support or any other household expenses.
- A
Walton County single mother is getting payment for one month's
rent. She recently paid for car repairs and had to use money budgeted
for household expenses.
- A
Gwinnett County widow is receiving funds to pay her car insurance,
lot rent and water. She is currently unemployed, but is looking
for a job. She also has two children still living at home.
- A
Walton County couple is getting funds to pay one month's mortgage.
Both are disabled and got behind on their house payments. The
couple will soon be collecting disability, but are afraid of losing
their home.
- Recording
for the Blind and Dyslexic is receiving $5,000 for the production
of recorded textbooks. This is the only national organization
that provides educational materials in recorded formats for people
unable to read because of a visual, perceptual or other physical
disability.
- The
Gwinnett County Association for Retarded Citizens, also known
as the Hi-Hope Service Center, is getting $5,000 to purchase appliances
and other household furnishings for a new residential group home.
The center provides programs and services to individuals with
mental retardation.
- The
Morgan County Department of Family and Children Services is receiving
$4,000 to provide emergency medical needs for elderly, disabled,
foster children and child protection.
