EMC Employees Win Relay for Life
For
the second consecutive year, Walton EMC employees have been the
top team in the Walton County Relay
for Life.
Held
September 24, the event at Walton County's Criswell Park drew more
than 1,000 participants, 200 cancer survivors and 42 teams.
A record $160,000 was raised for the Relay with Walton EMC employees
turning in $13,900.
"We
enjoy working to help find a way to cure cancer," said Boots Hendricks,
who headed the Walton EMC effort. "There's not an employee
here who hasn't been touched by cancer either directly or indirectly
through their family and friends."
Employees held a number of events, including
cookouts, raffles and the Power of Hope Motorcycle Ride in their winning
effort.
