Round
Up Continues to Aid Community
At
their last meeting, the volunteer Operation Round Up board was able
to help several individuals and families within the Walton EMC service
area. The following community groups also received Round Up funds.
- The Asian-American Resource Center
in Gwinnett County received $1,000 for their food pantry program.
- The Walton County Red Cross received
$3,000 for a phone system upgrade and to have a security system
installed in their facility.
The
money to do this good work comes from Walton EMC customer-owners
who allow their monthly electric bills to be rounded to the next
dollar. This small change, put together from tens of thousands of
participants, adds up to big bucks.
