WEMC's
Washington Youth Tour celebrates 40th anniversary
Walton
EMC will make four local high school students Washington VIPs this
June.
For
40 years, Walton EMC has invested in our communities' young people
by sending them on the weeklong Washington Youth Tour.
Participants
meet the movers and shakers of our government and participate in
teambuilding and leadership activities. They also
make friends with other delegates from across Georgia and the United
States.
It's
a sure bet these new VIPs will view their country, state and school
in a totally different light.
The
highlight of the week is a luncheon with Georgia's Congressional
delegation. Other past stops include the White House, Capital,
National Holocaust Museum and Arlington National Cemetery, where
Georgia delegates participate in a wreath-laying ceremony.
Social
activities include the All-States' Dance, a riverboat cruise on
the Potomac and a stop at the Hard Rock Café.
The
2005 trip is scheduled for June 16-23. Call 770/266-2307 or e-mail
Greg Brooks for your
