Walton EMC Communications Recognized at National Event

The communications efforts of your co-op have been awarded at the recent Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA) Institute.

Walton EMC Communicators Greg Brooks and Katie Woodall were recently honored for their work at the Cooperative Communicators Annual Institute.

Out of 791 total entries in the annual CCA Communications Contest, the article “Living With Unsightly Wall Warts” received third place in the Technical Writing category, while the ad “My Dad Knows About Safety” received an honorable mention in the Print Advertising category.

The contest showcases the best communications efforts of cooperative businesses and organizations throughout the United States.

Greg Brooks, Walton EMC Communications Coordinator and outgoing CCA president, also received the Master Cooperative Communicator (MCC) certificate.   The MCC certificate signifies an individual's level of professionalism and competency and demonstrates mastery of the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate on behalf of cooperatives.

2005 is the inaugural year of the MCC program and 15 communicators received the certificate.

The Cooperative Communicators Association is an organization of 300 professionals who communicate for cooperatives. The organization is unique in both its mission and membership and works toward helping members excel in communications efforts.
