Round
Up Puts Another $25,000 in Local Communities
Walton
Electric Trust, the board that oversees Operation Round Up, met
in June and made these donations:
- An
elderly Morgan County man and his disabled wife are getting help
to replace the roof on their home.
- Mothers
Against Methamphetamines of Loganville and Walton County is receiving
$2,500. This group provides competent and compassionate
drug education and rehabilitation resources for addicts, their

will be used for their Disaster Action Teams expansion program.
These teams provide clean-up kits for homes, comfort kits, referral
information, food, lodging, clothing and medical supplies for
families that have lost their homes as a result of a disaster–the
most common being house fires.
- The
City of Snellville Senior
Center is receiving $5,000 for their “Feels Like Home” project.
This money will help provide furnishings and other needs
for their new facility.
- Prevent
Child Abuse Rockdale is getting $500 for its nurturing program.
This program teaches age-specific parenting skills.
- Athens
Area Habitat for Humanity is being awarded $1,000 for their
Women Build project. This is a house building project with
an all female crew.
- Faith
In Serving Humanity is receiving $7,000 for their emergency assistance
program to meet some of the medical needs in the community.
- The
Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry is being granted $4,000
for their general housing assistance program. These funds
are used to help people with rental assistance, emergency lodging
or mortgage assistance.
