Round
Up Touches Entire Area
From
Lawrenceville to Loganville to Monroe to Athens, contributions from
Walton EMC's Operation Round Up help people all across our ten-county
territory.
In
its ninth year, Round Up has distributed hundreds of thousands of
dollars. And it's all collected 50 cents at a time.
That's
right–combining the giving power of 41,000 Walton EMC customer-owners
takes pocket change and makes miracles.
Here
are the latest beneficiaries of your generosity:
Loganville
Middle School–$671.96 to purchase a washer and dryer
for the special education department. Students will use the appliances
to learn to wash and dry their own clothes.
Crohn's
and Colitis Foundation–$2,500 for Camp Oasis.
Camp Oasis is for children with irritable bowel diseases. It lets
them be in an environment where they can learn from and support
each other.
Lawrenceville
Cooperative Ministry–$5,000 for their emergency medication
program.
Gwinnett
Community Clinic–$5,000 for the patient medicine
and representative program that provides services for those who
have no health insurance and who can't afford traditional medical
care.
Housing
and Economic Leadership Partners (HELP)–$5,000 to
counsel and help individuals with housing decisions.
Food
Bank of Northeast Georgia–$5,000 for their mobile
pantry program that distributes large quantity items to low-income
families.
Walton
County Chapter of the American Red Cross–$3,000
for their Youth Education Project. This project provides summer
camps, first aid training, disaster preparedness training and community
leadership training for young people.
Georgia
Unit of Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic–$6,288
to record three textbooks. This group provides educational materials
in an audio format for individuals who are unable to read due to
visual impairment, learning disability or physical disability.
Nine
