Better
Than a Wishing Well
Round
Up monies go to good cause
Why throw
your coins in a wishing well when they could change the lives of your neighbors?
Your 50
cents a month, the average donation, along with the coins of tens of thousands
of other Walton EMC customer-owners, make our communities better places.
 |
| David Williams, a board member of Walton Electric Trust, updates the
recent annual meeting audience on the continued success of Operation Round
Up in helping worthy groups in the ten-county service area. |
The following
organizations are recent recipients of Operation Round Up grants:
Asian
American Resource Center–$1,000 for their Supportive
Housing Program that provides transitional housing for qualified families
with children.
Creative
Enterprises–$4,000 to upgrade their production center. The
production center’s goal is to create a safe, pleasant working environment
for their disabled clients and help them increase productivity.
Aldersgate
Homes/Collinswood– $2,000 to help install
fencing around their facility, a recreational retreat for
people who are mentally and/or physically challenged. The
new fencing will protect them from wandering off or other
possible disasters.
Healing
Angels Medical Clinic–$3,000 for their diabetes
maintenance program. Healing Angles serves the health
and wellness needs of the medically underserved people
of Walton County by providing diabetic supplies and education.
Boys
and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, Lawrenceville–$5,000
for Power Hour. Power Hour is a comprehensive homework
help and tutoring program.
Pilot
Club of Monroe–$3,000 for improvements at
Pilot Park in Monroe. Projects include
enhancing the landscape, adding a picnic area,
and eventually fencing the playground.
Seven
families with emergencies–in
Walton EMC’s
ten county service area facing needs like
wheelchair ramps and contaminated plumbing
systems.
Participation
is easy. Initial the space on your bill stub or sign
up here. Then we round
up your electric bill to the next dollar each month and use the change to
help those around you.
