Round
Up Helps Wishes Come True
Coins tossed
in a wishing well probably won’t make wishes come true.
Those same
coins tossed to Operation Round Up definitely make wishes of those in need
come true.
Operation
Round Up, through your generosity, continues to help your neighbors.
When thousands of Walton EMC customer-owners give the average of only two
wishing well pitches a month, the giving power quickly compounds.
Here are
the latest donations:
- Barrow
County Habitat for Humanity–$2,000 for Building a Better
Barrow, a program designed to eliminate substandard housing.
The money will be used to help pay for replacement windows and
upgrades in plumbing, electrical, heating and air and septic
systems.
- The
Loganville Police Department–$4,500 to support the D.A.R.E.
program. The program gives children the skills necessary to
recognize and resist the pressure to become involved in drugs,
gang activity or violent crimes.
- The
Athens-Oconee CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate)–$6,000
to assist with their advocacy program. This program supports
and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused
and neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent
homes.
- The
volunteer Round Up board also voted to assist five families in
need.
Making wishes come true through Round Up is easy.
