I
Wish I'd Known
Don't
make a BIG security system mistake
“I
wish I’d known Walton EMC is in the security business.”
EMC
Security President Vince Raia cringes when he hears those words. That’s because
he knows someone has contracted with another security company charging high
fees and providing inferior service.“
There’s
no reason to ever sign a contract for security system monitoring,” says
Raia. “Contracts typically lock you in to a high price for a long time.
With non-cancelable contracts, there is no incentive for the company to work
hard to keep your business.”
Some unscrupulous
security companies even have an automatic renewal clause in their
agreements. If you don’t call, usually during a short window of time, your contract
renews itself for another two or three years.
EMC Security
requires no contract. If you’re not satisfied, you can
change monitoring companies whenever you want. And their monitoring
fee at $16.95 a month is one of the lowest around.
Cookie
Cutter
Companies
that offer bargain security systems typically use a one-size-fits-all
approach. No matter what your specific needs, you get the same minimal
equipment as every other system they sell. If you need something different
or extra, get ready for a bite out of your wallet.
It’s
false economy. A $99 cookie cutter system comes with
high monitoring rates, typically twice what EMC Security charges. It costs
less in the long run to buy the equipment up front and get a lower monitoring
rate.
Walton
EMC can even finance your new EMC Security system through our Prime
PowerLoan at competitive interest rates.
Another
contract gotcha covers the security equipment
itself. “Many people
who sign a contract think they own their security system,” says Raia. “But
when they dig down into the small print of the contract, they find that it’s
only a lease.
That
means when the consumer doesn’t renew the
monitoring contract, the company takes out
the security system.
With
EMC Security, you own
the system from day one.
Dig It
Out
If you
have a monitoring contract, dig it out of the files. See if it has an automatic
renewal clause. If so, put the
date for cancellation on your calendar. After you cancel, call EMC Security
for monitoring.
Even if
you discover you’re in an equipment lease, call anyway. EMC Security
may still be able to save you money. You’ll definitely get better service.
Now You
Know
Whether
you’re installing a security system for the first time or nearing the
end of a monitoring contract, now you know which company to call–EMC
Security.
