Change
a Light Movement Growing
You're
making a big impact for environment
How
many Walton EMC customer-owners does it take to change a light
bulb?
So
far, you’ve saved 201,630 kilowatt-hours of electricity
and prevented 318,175 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions by agreeing
to switch to more efficient

lighting.
Through
Walton EMC’s partnership with ENERGY STAR and it’s
Change a Light program, customer-owners are pledging to save
energy and the environment by switching old-fashioned incandescent
light bulbs to high-tech compact fluorescent (CF) bulbs.
Incandescent
bulbs are big energy wasters–90 percent of the energy they
consume is wasted as heat. So for every dollar spent, you only
get 10 cents worth of light.
CF
bulbs are four times as efficient, meaning you can cut lighting
costs by up to 75 percent. And they last ten times longer than
a standard bulb.
Over
the long haul, just one CF bulb may save $40 in electricity.

your co-op reach its Change a Light pledge goal. Sign up to participate

As
a bonus for pledging, you can sign up to receive quarterly email
energy saving tips from ENERGY STAR.
So,
how many Walton EMC customer-owners does it take to
change a light bulb? Hopefully all of them.
