Round
Up donations are improving local citizens' lives
 |
| The Mobile Pantry program, a focus of the
Food Bank of Northeast Georgia in 2006, distributed nearly 1 million
pounds of food through 86 events. These events allow the Food Bank to
distribute food and other products without increasing agency resources. |
Through
Operation Round Up, small change makes a big difference.
By allowing
their bill to be rounded to the next dollar, tens of thousands of Walton
EMC customer-owners contribute an average of 50 cents a month to worthy projects
in our ten-county service area.
That small
change doesn’t seem like much, but when combined, it adds to big
giving power.
Take a
look at the latest beneficiaries of your generosity:
The Crohn’s & Colitis
Foundation is getting $2,500 to send children to Camp
Oasis. Camp
Oasis lets children with irritable bowel disease have fun and
learn while supporting each other.
The Dream
House for Medically Fragile Children is receiving
$10,000 for Family for Keeps. This program gives
families the tools and information they need to successfully
care for medically fragile children in their own home.
The Gwinnett
Community Clinic is getting $5,000 for their
patient drug and medical supply program. The clinic provides services for people with
no health insurance who can’t afford traditional
medical care.

receiving $5,000 for their comprehensive housing
program. This
program provides counseling and economic opportunities
to low and moderate income residents.

The building is in need of major repairs and
upgrades in order for it to continue to be serviceable.

program delivers 10,000 pounds of food
for distribution to people all over Northeast
Georgia.
Buzzly
Fire Safety is receiving $5,000
for their fire safety programs in Walton
County. Buzzly’s
programs provide education kits that
teach children basic fire safety survival
skills.
Also, four
families in the Walton EMC
community are receiving emergency
assistance from Operation Round Up.
It’s easy to participate. Just initial the
space on the bill stub you return with the electric bill payment or click on
