Director
Districts Realigned, Refined

Your board
of directors recently voted to realign several director districts within
Walton EMC’s service territory.
“The
main reasons for this realignment are to more evenly distribute the districts’ customer-owners
and increase the board’s efficiency,” said Chairman Sam Simonton. “A
side benefit is that it cuts costs associated with the board’s operation.
It’s a positive step and makes good business sense.”
The biggest
change is to District 5–Gratis. District 5 customer-owners located
in Walton County are now in District 8–Bold Springs-Gratis. Customer-owners
who live in Barrow County are now part of District 4–Eastville.
Here is
a summary of other major changes:
- The
southwestern boundary of District 8–Good Hope has been moved westward
toward Walnut Grove.
- The
western boundary of District 11–Southwest Walton has been moved westward
and follows the Gwinnett/Rockdale County line and Rosebud Road.
- Parts of District 10–Centerville-South
Gwinnett located in DeKalb County are now in District 7–Mountain Park.
