Current Cooking

Traditional Pumpkin Bread

4 eggs

3 cups granulated or brown sugar

1 cup butter

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

Mix  first five ingredients. Then add:

1 cup of canned pumpkin

2/3 cup 2 percent milk or whipping cream

3 cups plain flour

2 teaspoons soda

1 cup nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour pans. Fill half full with batter and bake 55 to 60 minutes.
