Quick Programming Instructions for

Midland 74-200 SAME Weather Radio

 

1.  Determine the FIPS code(s)of the counties you want programmed.

            Athens-Clarke   013059              Morgan             013211

   Barrow              013013              Newton             013217

            DeKalb              013089              Oconee             013219

            Greene              013133              Rockdale           013247

            Gwinnett            013135              Walton              013297

 

2.  Repeatedly press DISP. MODE button on top of radio until “WEATHER ALERT

      ON” flashes in display.  (Note:  If display flashes “WEATHER ALERT OFF,” press

      ALERT button on front of radio to change to “WEATHER ALERT ON.”)

 

3.  Open lid on top, right corner and press PROGRAM.

 

4.  Press 1 to set station for these counties:  Athens-Clarke, Barrow, Greene, Morgan,

      Oconee, eastern Walton.  Display should flash “CH. 1 162.400.”

 

      Push 7 to set station for these counties:  DeKalb, Gwinnett, Newton, Rockdale,

      western Walton.  Display should flash “CH. 7  162.550.”

 

5. Press YES.  Display will show “VOICE.”

 

6. Press YES.  Display will show “999999.”

 

7. Press YES.  Display will show “_ _ _ _ _ _”

 

8.  Enter FIPS county code.  If you make a mistake, press NO.

 

9.  Press YES.  Display will show “000000.”

 

10  To enter another county press YES.  Display will show “_ _ _ _ _ _”

 

11. Go back to number 8 above and continue for each county.  When you have

      entered the last county press PROGRAM. Display will flash “WEATHER ALERT

      ON.”

 

 

To Check FIPS Codes:

 

1.  Press PROGRAM.

 

2.  Press YES.

 

3.  Press YES.

 

4.  Display will show number for first county.  Press NO to cycle through numbers.

      Press PROGRAM when finished.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES:  Display must flash “WEATHER ALERT ON” for automatic weather alert feature to work!  You must be able to hear the weather broadcast (press WEATHER  button on front to toggle on and off) to make sure you are receiving a NOAA station to get weather warnings.
