Ready
for late summer thunderstorms, winter ice or other emergencies?
A weather/all hazard radio lets you know what's on the way.
The
National Weather Service (NWS) operates special
radio stations all over the United States that continually
broadcast current weather conditions and send out special
warnings when severe weather approaches your area. These radio
stations can also be used to warn citizens of other public
safety emergencies, like toxic chemical spills, radiation
conditions or hazardous fires and explosions.
You can't
get these broadcasts on a regular car or home radio - you
need a special NOAA Weather Radio receiver.
All homes
Walton EMC's service area can receive these broadcasts from
the Atlanta
or Athens NOAA Weather Radio transmitters. You can get
your weather/all hazard radio from Walton EMC. We have several
models to fit any need or budget.
Ordering
couldn't be easier. Come by any office to pick one up or call
(770/267-2505, 706/769-5622) and we'll ship it free. You can
even charge it to your electric bill and take up to 90 days
to pay with no finance charges.
