Walton EMC is something special – a unique force in the communities we’ve served since 1936. Our leaders are our members, neighbors and friends. And our service is much more than electricity.
For unprecedented generosity in 10 northeast Georgia counties, Walton EMC has been named EMC of the Year and presented with the Community Service and Volunteerism Award by our statewide trade association.
Our employees are involved in many community activities, including annual fundraising drives for the Georgia 2-Day Breast Cancer Walk, Camp Twin Lakes and the Boys and Girls Clubs. In addition, Walton EMC personnel are active participants in local chambers of commerce, civic clubs, youth sports, churches and many other activities that better our communities.
Operation Round Up is Walton EMC’s community service assistance program. The program is a simple and rewarding way for our customer-owners to raise money for local charities, needy individuals and service organizations.
Walton EMC believes in investing in youth. Each year, the co-op sends high school students to the Washington Youth Tour, sponsors youth electrification career development events, and partners with area schools to enhance the educational experience. The co-op is also a sponsor of the Walton Electric Trust Scholarship, the Walter Harrison Scholarship program and the University of Georgia Engineering Leadership Scholarship.
Walton EMC’s Monroe and Snellville offices have an auditorium that is available to civic and community groups for their meetings at no charge. Reservations are required.
It’s the objective of Walton EMC to carry out the seventh cooperative principle, concern for community. One of the ways we carry out our objective is through charitable contributions and donations. Walton EMC is committed to adding value to the area that we serve through the support of community service programs that are consistent with the mission and priorities of the cooperative.
