Each year, the co-op sends high school students to the Washington Youth Tour, sponsors youth electrification career development events and partners with area schools to enhance the educational experience through Partners in Education and School EmPOWERment Grants.
The co-op also sponsors scholarship programs that award financial aid for post-high school education.
If you’re a high school sophomore or junior living or attending school in Walton EMC’s service area, you could win an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., as a participant in the Washington Youth Tour.
The Walton Electric Trust student scholarship is open to any graduating high school senior or incoming college freshman with no more than 15 hours of college credit.
The Walton EMC Engineering Leadership Scholarship provides five $10,000 scholarships to students who study one of the bachelor degree programs within the University of Georgia College of Engineering.
Each year, the Walter Harrison Scholarship program awards $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors and undergraduate students attending any vocational school or two- or four-year accredited college or university in Georgia.
The EMC/FFA Electrification Career Development Event is organized through local FFA chapters and sponsored by Walton EMC and the Electric Membership Corporations of Georgia.
Walton EMC offers educational grants to schools and classroom teachers for a myriad of uses that further instructional programs.
