Walton EMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and drug-free workplace.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

There are no job openings at this time.

Walton EMC strives to comply with all laws and regulations related to affirmative action and equal employment opportunity.

We only accept outside applications for employment when a posting for a job opening exists. You can also find out about openings by looking at the bulletin boards in our office lobbies, calling us at 770-267-2505 and asking for the job line, or you may visit the  Georgia Department of Labor website.

These policies may affect your eligibility for employment at Walton EMC:

Employment of relatives of any member of the board or relatives of any current Walton EMC employee is prohibited.

Certain jobs have a residency requirement. Line crew personnel and certain other operations personnel are required to live within a reasonable distance of their assigned office location.

Why a residency requirement? It helps us give our customer-owners the best possible service, especially during outages. It also encourages employees to live in the areas we serve. This promotes involvement in community and civic activities, which is one of the seven cooperative principles.

Education requirements depend on the position. A high school diploma or GED certificate is required for all positions. Additional college degrees or technical school training are required for many positions. These requirements, along with the experience, knowledge and skills required for each position, are listed in the job specifications for each position.

We require a valid driver’s license for all positions. In addition, many positions also require a Commercial Driver’s License.

All offers of employment are conditional upon acceptable references and the passing of a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical exam.

Equal Employment Commitment

It is the policy of Walton Electric Membership Corporation to afford equal employment opportunity to all individuals, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status or age (except where bona fide occupational qualifications exist).

We are strongly bound to this policy because adherence to equal employment opportunity principles is the basis for democracy and our American heritage. Walton Electric Membership Corporation is committed to ensure that we: 1) recruit, hire, train and promote persons to all jobs without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status or age; 2) base decisions on employment so as to further the principle of equal employment opportunity; 3) ensure that promotion decisions are made in accordance with principles of equal employment opportunity by imposing only valid job requirements; and 4) ensure that all personnel actions such as compensation, benefits, transfers, company-sponsored training, education, tuition assistance, social and recreational programs are administered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status or age.

To help ensure the success of our commitment, we have implemented an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Program (EEO/AAP).  Anyone who wishes more information on this program should contact Walton EMC.  Any requests should be directed to Russell DeLong, Vice President Corporate Services.

Employment of Relatives Policy

It is the policy of Walton EMC to employ the most qualified available talent in accordance with our Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action programs. However, sound business practice dictates some restriction on the employment of relatives where such employment could result in a conflict of interest for the employee or Walton EMC.
